Syphilis rates in the U.S. have reached their highest level since 1950, with over 209,000 reported cases in 2023 and a rate of 62.5 per 100,000 population.  The following educational videos are provided by the NNPTC with the most recent at the top of the page.  Additional videos will be added as they become available.

An educational overview of syphilis, caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum, including disease transmission, stages of infection, common symptoms, methods of diagnosis, and treatment options.

An advanced follow-up to the introductory Syphilis 101 video.  This video discusses staging infection, neurological and cardiovascular complications, congenital transmission, VDRL and dark-field microscopy testing, and treatment.
