Southeast STD/HIV Prevention Training Center

About the Center

The Southeast STD/HIV Prevention and Training Center is a regional collaboration between a nationally respected experts in STI/HIV training and research. Our center is comprised of faculty and staff from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Wake Forest School of Medicine, Jefferson County Department of Health (JCDH) and the Guilford County Department of Health and Human Services. Utilizing faculty from each institution we provide regional STI/HIV prevention training for the southeast region of the United States at two state-of-the-art STD clinics strategically located between university and health department facilities.

Our team travels to other locations for further educational activities within the region to improve STI/HIV care. Additionally, the Southeast PTC partners with other agencies such as: the Southeast AIDS Training and Education Center (SEATEC), Medical Advocacy Outreach Center, the Southeast Prevention Technology Transfer Center Network (SE PPTC), state and local health departments, and community health organizations to provide didactic education and experiential training.
