About the Center
In operation at the University of Washington since 1979, the University of Washington STD Prevention Training Center leads the way in providing world class training to health care providers and educators in the Pacific Northwest on the prevention, diagnosis, management and treatment of sexually transmitted disease. The University of Washington PTC is associated with the Public Health, Seattle-King County (PHSKC) STD Clinic at Harborview Medical Center. Teaching faculty are members of the University of Washington School of Medicine and personnel of PHSKC; many are leaders in HIV and STD related research. A program of the University of Washington Center for AIDS and STDs, the University of Washington PTC also partners with health departments in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Minnesota, North and South Dakota to provide training opportunities and resources in each state.
